“83% of confirmed trafficking cases in the US are American born citizens? Between 700,000 and 4 million women and children will be trafficked this year, with the majority being forced to work in the sex trade.

In America, there are an estimated 40,000 men, women and children enslaved at this very moment,” say activists Jada Pinkett Smith and Mexican actress Salma Hayek.

Smith and Hayek recently launched a website called Don’tSellBodies.org, which serves as a resource for victims of Human Trafficking, and as an information hub to help people learn more about Human Trafficking.

Jada also released a new music video with her band Wicked Evolution for the song Nada Se Compara, which she sings in Spanish.

The video, directed by Hayek, was inspired by the real-life story of a young woman sold into sexual slavery by her boyfriend.

” If everyone who cares takes action, we can end slavery once and for all. It’s time.”

I am part of a stop human trafficking committee in Waterdown, ON, Canada and came upon your site by accident. It really helps to have high profile people involved in the struggle. Thankyou.

The highest cause of death for pregnant women is murder and 65% of the homicides are victims who were leaving domestic violent lifestyles. I learned this in April 2012 when our Women’s Fellowship hosted the House of Tamar Foundation’s, “Breaking the Silence” Open Forum and Discussion Panel. They are located in downtown Richmond, Virginia and advocate for victims of Child and Sexual Abuse, Domestic Violence and Modern Day Slavery (Human Trafficking). I got the message. I also learned that the message is URGENT, the time to do it was YESTERDAY!!

  4. I would like to start off by thanking you ladies for what you are doing. It makes me so mad that we as a society allow this to take place. We put so much money and time into the fight on drugs but have forgotten the fight for human rights. My heart goes out to the female population.
However, I am very confused. I support the fight against human trafficking and it should end worldwide. What is being done about the fuel that is running this vile act? I am talking about pornography? Pornography is said to be a freedom of speech, but what it really is a tool to degrade the person. Who is fighting the Porn industry? I think if Porn was not so accepted in Hollywood and in popular culture as much as it is, women’s rights would have a better chance. It is sad to say that some women are directing, casting, and encouraging females to portray themselves as sexual objects. Hollywood changed the mind of America about blacks in America. They are now trying to change the mind about homosexuals (Which I disagree with). I think it is time that they stop glorifying sex and start using their power to put the act of sex in its proper contexts in a relationship. Everyone is not doing it! And it is ok to be a virgin when you get married.
I will fight the fight against human trafficking, but we also will have to take on the Porn industry if we are going to see any progress.
